Coaches

Dante is a Kearney native, having grown up as a Matcat. As an athlete,  he was a 3x Nebraska state champion, compiling a 155–16 record before continuing his career at Iowa State University, where he became an NCAA DI National Qualifier and Big 12 runner-up. He finished his college career at the University of Northern Colorado. Dante also excelled in Greco-Roman, where he wrestled on the USA Wrestling Junior World team in 2014. Professionally, Dante works at Bryant Elementary. 

Tim is a Kearney native, growing up as a Matcat. As an athlete, he was a 4x State Medalist & State Champion for Kearney High School. He went on to compete for the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Tim started his coaching career with the Matcats serving as the 3rd-8th Head Coach. He later moved to Kearney High School for a number of years before moving back to the youth level.  Professionally, Tim is a Radiologic Technologist in the Cardiac Cath Lab for CHI Good Samaritan Hospital. 

Isaac is a Kearney native, growing up as a Matcat wrestler. As an athlete, he is a 3x State Medalist & State Champion for Kearney High. Professionally, Isaac is a Chiropractor for Elite Health & Wellness. 

Billy is an Omaha native, wrestling for Omaha Skutt Catholic, where he was a 2x State Champion and 2x Fargo All-American. After high school, Billy competed for the University of Northern Colorado before transferring to the University of Nebraska-Kearney. At UNK, he was a 3x All-American, placing 3rd, 6th & 3rd. Professionally, Billy works for Coverwise Insurance Agency in Holdrege.

Scott is a navive of York, NE where he was a 3x State Medalist and State Champion for York High School. He finished his senior season going 56-0. He went on to complete for the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Scott as currently serves as an Assistant Coach for the Kearney High Girls program. Professionally, Scott works for Computer Hardware in Kearney. 

Reese is a native of Kearney, NE. As a high school wrestler he was a 2x State Medalist for Kearney High School. Professionally, Reese owns and opperates Florang Chiropractic and Wellness in Kearney. 

Jarek is a native of Kearney and a former Matcat wrestler. As a high school wrestler, Jarek was a 2x State Medalist. He went on to wrestle for the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Professionally, Jarek works as a nursing manager in the ICU for Kearney Regional Medical Center. 

Garrett is a native of Ravenna, where he wrestled from Kindergarten through High School. He started coaching with the Kearney Matcats in 2025 for our PreK-2nd grade program. Professionally, he works for Servitech as an Agronomist/Crop Scout. 

Nick grew up as a Matcat in Kearney and attended Kearney High. He started coaching for the Kearney Matcats in 2025 for our PreK-2nd Grade program. Professionally, Nick works for the City of Kearney as an IT Technician.
