Kearney Matcats Hire Dante Rodriguez As 3rd-12th Grade Head Coach

The Kearney Matcat Wrestling Club is excited to announce the hiring of Dante Rodriguez as the new Head Wrestling Coach for our 3rd-12th grade programs. With an extensive background in wrestling and a passion for developing young athletes, Coach Rodriguez is set to bring a new era of excellence to the club.


Dante joins the Matcats with decades of experience in the wrestling world, both as a competitor and a coach. He began his wrestling youth career as a Kearney Matcat where he earned numerous youth wrestling State and National Championships and medalist honors. As a High School Wrestler, he was a 4x State Finalist and a 3x State Champion.



At the College level Dante was an NCAA DI National Qualifier for Iowa State, he finished his college career at Northern Colorado University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Human Services. In 2019 Dante also represented the United States at the 2014 Junior World Championships in Greco. As a Coach, Dante has helped coach at Kearney Combat, Horizon Middle School, and Kearney High School.

"He brings a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for the sport that will undoubtedly inspire and elevate our athletes. We look forward to seeing the positive impact he will have on our club."
